Patient Service Representative-Imaging File Room Full Time Days

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week located at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital. This role supports the file room and film library and is not patient-facing.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Every 6th Saturday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and guests, including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity, and providing necessary information related to their visit.
• Completes check-in/out functions as directed.
• Confirms and updates patient identification, demographic, and insurance information.
• Completes patient registration as needed.
• Obtains patient consents/authorizations.
• Collects co-payments, past due balances, and point-of-service payments.
• Posts payments, processes billing information, and performs “end of day” cash drawer closing.
• Keeps waiting area clean and comfortable.
• Informs patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedules appointments as necessary.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service position.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual.
