Patient Service Representative (GI Clinic)

About the role

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is a locally owned and managed healthcare provider serving communities in Moore County, Lee County, Cumberland County, Chatham County, and the surrounding six counties. PMC offers a broad range of primary and specialty care services, committed to patient-centered care led by physicians who utilize the latest medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a liaison between patients and medical support staff by greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors.
• Entering all patient demographics, insurance information, and collecting payments upon check-in/out or when scheduling an appointment.
• Scheduling patient appointments for both established and new patients.
• Checking in patients, verifying and updating necessary information, and acknowledging patients and checking them out.
• Informing patients about financial obligations such as co-payments, deductibles, insurance eligibility, etc.
• Maintaining the lobby in a neat and orderly manner, including keeping magazines current.
• Coordinating the physicians' schedules, having a thorough knowledge of specialties and medical practices.
• Answering telephones and returning calls in a timely manner, taking messages, handling requests, and providing accurate information.
• Handling mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Pay

The pay rate for this position is hourly (non-exempt).

Schedule

The shift for this position is Day Shift (Monday through Friday), with no weekends or holidays.
