Patient Service Representative Float Pool
About the role
The Patient Service Representative plays a significant part in creating a great experience for patients and their families. They work in partnership with physicians and clinical staff to handle patients' administrative needs, including checking in patients for appointments, collecting co-pays, answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Check in patients for appointments
- Collect patient co-pays
- Answer telephones
- Take accurate messages
- Schedule appointments
- Verify and update patient and insurance information
- Update information using the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Communicate with patients and families
- Provide superior customer service
- Utilize independent decision-making skills
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred

Pay
The pay for this Full-Time position is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The hours for this position are typically from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with weekend availability required. Locations will vary.
