About the role
The Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic practice by managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient interactions and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other staff members with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Enter patient information, schedule appointments, and process documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policy/procedure.
- Handle inquiries and concerns with tact and diplomacy, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Resolve patient concerns, complaints, and issues in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, stand and walk during each shift, and perform duties requiring the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in both Patient Services Representative and Advance Patient Services Representative competencies, as verified by department leader.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance practices, and billing procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Adaptability and ability to work effectively under pressure.
