Patient Service Representative

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out; work with patients/families to explain unit processes; answer questions; round on patient care units to provide customer service.
• Unit Management: Prepare daily staff assignment boards, nurse locators, and updated patient room boards; assist Clinical Nurse Leader with coordinating daily patient activities; update patient charts; oversee information flow (telephone, mail, fax, paper reports); maintain and stock unit supplies.
• Medical Record Management: Process physician paper orders or Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) tasks; maintain all electronic and paper medical records.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Six months related work experience in a healthcare or general office setting preferred.
• Experience with public contact and strong interaction/communication skills.
• Medical terminology and/or prior nursing assistance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may include brief periods of walking or standing. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay Range

$16.75 - $18.91 per hour
