Patient Service Representative

About the role

Department: PMC - Primary Care. Employment Type: Full Time. Location: Bonner Springs, KS. As a Patient Service Representative (also known as Patient Access Representative or Patient Registration Clerk), you will interview patients or their representatives to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prepare for upcoming visits.

Responsibilities

• Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
• Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
• Schedules patients for radiology appointments as requested by providers
• Processes referrals and schedules patients accordingly
• Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
• Greets and checks in patients and takes all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
• Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Customer Service experience preferred

Shift: Days. Hours: 8-hour shifts, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
