Patient Service Representative
About the role
As a patient service representative, you’ll be the first person patients see when they arrive at Neighborhood, and you’ll help set the tone for a positive patient visit.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients
- Verify patient information and make corrections in the computer system
- Confirm appointment times, locations, and providers during check-in
- Communicate delays to the front desk lead
- Absorb and confirm appointments
- Absorb and close procedures
- Print daily appointment schedules and front desk reports
- Verify insurance through epaces, heathenet, healthplex
- Sends appropriate patient messages
- Assists patients in filling out forms
- Collections co-payments including sliding scale nominal fee
- Adheres to cash handling policy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred
- Able to learn new software and computer systems
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills
- Kindness: you treat each person with respect and compassion, valuing each person’s story
- Resiliency: you see opportunities to innovate and find solutions when challenges arise
- Teamwork: you are open to others’ unique perspectives, and will collaborate to meet shared goals
- Mandatory medical office experience or medical terminology knowledge
- EHR knowledge preferred but not required

Schedule
Available to work any shift Monday-Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
