Patient Service Representative
This position is based at our newest center in Sherman, with a projected opening in November 2026. We are ideally seeking candidates interested in cross-training into a Bone Density Technician role. A mandatory 2-week training period at our North Arlington facility is required.
About the role
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) focuses on delivering exceptional patient care and facilitating physician needs. You will ensure patients feel prioritized and receive spectacular service by addressing their needs in the moment. This role involves performing administrative tasks, supporting company initiatives, and maintaining operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls to the center and provide a friendly greeting to patients and providers.
- Check scheduled patients in and out, ensuring proper documentation is received.
- Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles as necessary.
- Resolve patient, provider, and customer complaints, escalating to the PSR Lead or Area Manager as needed.
- Ensure accurate data entry for patient registration and assist with medical records.
- Process all queues efficiently while adhering to compliance requirements.
- Manage eRIS Center workflow, including daily scheduling, billing, priors grid, delinquent exams, waitlist, report delivery queues, and collection of TOS.
- Stay informed about carrier-specific issues (e.g., out-of-network limitations).
- Monitor the schedule to ensure all data, attachments, and history are completed before exams.
- Facilitate no-show appointments by calling patients, canceling, or rescheduling.
- Reschedule and cancel appointments as directed, handling incoming and outgoing patient calls.
- Monitor the waiting room to minimize wait times and assist patients as needed.
- Request orders and process new or same-day appointment requests.
- Encourage patients to complete a satisfaction survey after their exam.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience providing exceptional customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong problem solver with a team-player mindset.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Work Environment
This job operates in an outpatient clinical environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
Pay
Position pay range: $17.70 - $21.30 per hour.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
