Patient Service Representative

About the role

Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates is seeking a Patient Service Representative in Woodbridge, Virginia to join the clinical team, providing high-level patient care and satisfaction in a team‑based environment. The role supports staff and patients by answering phones, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments, managing the appointment book, confirming and following up on appointments, registering patients, posting charges and payments, checking voicemail, and maintaining a clean waiting area.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, smile and greet patients upon arrival/dismissal
• Respond to patient questions and/or concerns according to policies
• Answering telephones
• Scheduling appointments
• Maintaining appointment book
• Confirming appointments
• Follow up on no‑shows/cancellations of appointments
• Register patients on sign‑in sheet
• Post charges and payments to patient accounts
• Check voicemail on a daily basis
• Maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients

Qualifications

• 1 year experience working in a dental, medical, or other health‑care office
• Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO/PPO) – a plus
• Experience answering telephone
• Exceptional customer service skills

Pay

$22–$25 per hour

Schedule

Full time, Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm
