Patient Service Rep - Gastroenterology

About the Role

As a Patient Service Representative at Straub Benioff Medical Center, you will help ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly, and considerate assistance. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Gastroenterology department by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks.

These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating, and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection.

Responsibilities

• Interview, register, and admit patients.
• Update and create patients’ medical records.
• Process professional and technical fees generated by department providers accurately and timely.
• Perform cash handling and collection duties.
• Act as a liaison between patients and professional staff in the Gastroenterology department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with EPIC.

• Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.

Pay

Pay Range: 24.83 - 26.14 USD per hour
