Patient Service Rep - Float Pool Primary Care
About the role
The Resource Team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions. The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to float to various areas in Primary Care in the clinics.
Responsibilities
- Helping to ensure that patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at Straub.
- Acting as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our clinics by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities.
- Aiding with a variety of administrative tasks, including interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records.
- Performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers.
- Performing cash handling and collection.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical support in a health care setting or related experience.
- Basic computer skills.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
- A commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
Skills
- Basic medical terminology.
- Experience with EPIC.
