Patient Service Rep - CS Connect / Hybrid (Evening shift)

About the role

A Patient Service Representative is responsible for positive patient relations, accurate telephone communication, appointment scheduling, patient registration, payment and co-payment collection, and overall outstanding customer service to patients through call intake and service navigation within Cedars Sinai Medical Network. This position also handles routine duties related to collecting and maintaining current patient demographics and insurance information.

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service through successful intake, prioritizing, and resolution of calls and patient needs for a multi-specialty team.
• Greets patients and assists with resolving patient issues or escalating them as needed.
• Checks patients in and out, collects co-payments, provides receipts, and reconciles payments.
• Verifies that patient demographic and insurance data are accurate in CS-Link.
• Schedules appointments, completes patient registration, collects patient payments, and maintains a high standard of patient service.
• Assists with managing physician schedules and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Handles patient/provider correspondence as instructed.
• Processes and tracks referrals and authorizations for various insurance types.
• Manages patient care flow and assists with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard work.
• Monitors and assesses their own workflow to find opportunities for improvement.
• Explains policies, procedures, or services to patients using administrative knowledge.
• Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings.
• Promotes and practices infection prevention standards and all department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience working as a Patient Service Representative in an outpatient medical office setting preferred.
