About the role
The Patient Scheduling Facilitator is the first point of contact for patients entering the health system, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining professionalism. Under the guidance of the Access Center leadership, they handle scheduling, gather accurate billing information, and support positive patient relations to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures efficiently.
- Gather and verify accurate billing and insurance information.
- Maintain professionalism and support positive patient relations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (preferred).
- Prior experience in scheduling and customer service (preferred).
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced keyboarding skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
Physical demands
- Prolonged sitting, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional standing or walking.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
