Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:2 Week Orientation will require classroom time in Springfield, MA for local colleaguesPosition PurposeReporting to the Manager Patient Access, the Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing, assisting with the billing process for reimbursement of provided services, and assisting with the outpatient registration process.What you will doSchedule and confirm patient diagnostic testing appointments and provide testing requirements and instructions to patientsInterview patients to obtain and/or complete testing documents, medical case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance formsOperate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, copiers, fax, and use of computer systems including database entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applicationsAnswer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staffMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferredMinimum of 6 months customer service experience requiredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredPosition Highlights and Benefits40 Hours per Week - 1st shift (Days)Mostly Mon-Fri but rotating half day Saturday (differentials apply)Orientation first two weeks includes classroom time in Springfield, MA for colleagues living within 50 milesGreat Benefits and Health Insurance Coverage - Starting Day 1Ministry/Facility InformationSaint Francis Hospital is committed to exceeding the expectations of our patients and families by providing world-class service in a progressive, people-centered, compassionate health care environment.
