Patient Scheduler
Job Summary
The office is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join their busy specialty practice. The role involves delivering outstanding customer service, managing a multi-line phone queue, scheduling patient consultations, and performing administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and referral offices via phone.
- Manage a multi-line phone queue system to assist callers efficiently.
- Direct callers to the appropriate department or individual as needed.
- Assess, document, and communicate post-surgical questions and concerns to RN using clinical messaging.
- Schedule patient consultations and surgical procedures in the EMR system, following established policies and protocols.
- Accurately complete insurance verification forms and obtain necessary insurance information.
- Educate patients on in-network and out-of-network insurance policies and procedures.
- Reschedule appointments as needed due to schedule changes.
- Perform additional duties such as patient registration, EMR data entry/scanning, and chart preparation.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations and model the Practice’s values.
Requirements
- Experience in dental or in customer service preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and the dental team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in dental software and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
- Empathetic and patient-centered approach to customer service.
- High school diploma required.
