  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Rotating holidays and weekends

As a Patient Safety Companion, you will make a real impact by supporting clients in their daily activities while helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. You’ll monitor and interact with clients throughout the day, document activity, and contribute to care guided by trauma-informed principles. Responsibilities

  • Cleaning building, completing laundry, stocking supplies, and preparing food for clients
  • Respond to calls and provide front desk coverage
  • Complete safety rounding to maintain a therapeutic, secure, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, including enforcement of rules
  • Accurately document safety rounds
  • Intervene appropriately and therapeutically in crisis situations using crisis intervention preventions and trauma-informed care
  • Demonstrate competence in recognizing and responding to patients' physical, mental, emotional, and developmental needs utilizing crisis prevention intervention and trauma-informed care

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class “D” Iowa driver’s license or an equivalent license from the employee’s state of residence
  • CPR certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) training, initial and yearly renewal
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation
  • Mental health or substance disorder experience preferred
