About the role

As a Patient Safety Companion, you’ll be the extra set of eyes and caring presence that helps patients feel safe, supported, and never alone. Through direct observation and compassionate interaction, you’ll play a key role in creating a secure, comfortable environment while helping patients get the care and attention they need.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

  • Provides 1:1 direct observation to assigned patient to prevent patient self-injury in a situation where patient/family is unable to do so
  • Communicates with assigned nursing/nursing support staff on assigned area immediately in case of emergency, or as needed to provide patient care on routine basis
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service
  • Abides by all hospital and departmental policies
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational, and lifestyle backgrounds

Requirements

  • Education: High School graduate or GED
  • Experience: Familiarity with healthcare environment preferred
