Patient Safety Companion

Patient Safety Companion at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's - Sioux City Downtown. Provides continuous observation and monitoring of patients at risk of self-harm, wandering, or injury to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and support delivery of care.

Schedule

• PRN (as needed), 12-hour shifts
• Rotating schedule: Days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient's safety by providing a safe environment
• Assist patient with routine activities
• Coordinate care with appropriate hospital personnel
• Document implementation of safety protocols
• Demonstrate the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors
• Adhere to policies and procedures and safety guidelines

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED required
