Patient Safety Companion

Responsibilities

• Cleaning building, completing laundry, stocking supplies, and preparing food for clients
• Respond to calls and provide front desk coverage
• Completes safety rounding to maintain therapeutic, secure, and safe environment for patients/visitors/staff including enforcement of rules.
• Accurately documents safety rounds.
• Intervenes appropriately and therapeutically in crisis situations using crisis intervention preventions and trauma informed care.
• Demonstrate competence in recognizing and responding to patients physical, mental, emotional and developmental needs utilizing crisis prevention intervention and trauma informed care.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid Class “D” Iowa driver’s license or an equivalent license from the employee’s state of residence. CPR CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) training, initial & yearly renewal.
• Experience: Knowledge of proper food handling and preparation. Mental health or substance disorder experience preferred.
