About the role

Patient Safety Attendants are essential members of the healthcare team responsible for maintaining a safe environment and observing patients closely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and remain with the patient at all times to ensure appropriate levels of observation.
• Accurately document necessary information during the patient observation process.
• Communicate effectively with Registered Nurses about pertinent patient information.
• Avoid creating a ligature-resistant or ligature-free environment as needed.
• Notify and update the licensed nurse of any immediate patient safety concerns, patient care issues, or staffing needs.
• Foster positive and professional interactions between patients and staff.
• Comply with all departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPI certification required prior to conducting patient observation.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds.
• Must speak and understand English clearly.
• Must possess manual and finger dexterity.
• Must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.

Pay

Pay range: $18.85 - $28.30 per hour.

Schedule

Full time, weekend position.
