Patient Safety Attendant

About the Role

At Overland Park Regional Medical Center, we prioritize your growth and well-being. As a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA), you will provide continuous observation and monitoring for high-risk patients, ensuring their safety and collaborating with the nursing team to maintain a secure environment. This role is vital in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and making a meaningful impact on our patients' lives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a direct line of sight with the patient at all times, including during family or visitor interactions.
• Accompany patients and ensure their safety during transportation, testing, and procedures outside their normal environment.
• Establish and maintain a safe, risk-free patient environment using fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention techniques.
• Perform regular room assessments, including after any visitations.
• Assist with basic activities of daily living as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Basic Life Saving Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• De-Escalation Training required within the first 90 days of hire.
