Position Summary

The Emergency Department Registration Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the Emergency Department. This role is responsible for efficiently and accurately collecting patient demographic and insurance information, completing registrations, and ensuring a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients promptly upon arrival to the Emergency Department
  • Accurately collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and contact information
  • Obtain necessary documentation, signatures, and consent forms in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Enter patient information into the hospital information system with a high level of accuracy
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate financial responsibility when applicable
  • Collaborate closely with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow and prioritization
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
  • Monitor and maintain registration work queues to ensure productivity standards are met
  • Provide general assistance and answer patient inquiries as needed

About the Role

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
