Patient Registration (Customer Service)
Shift Schedule: Rotating schedule. Sunday-start workweek. Hours: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM. Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.
About the role
As our Patient Registration - Customer Service Representative, you’ll help patients check into the hospital. This role is occasionally fast-paced, and you’ll be the person patients rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions.
To thrive in this job, you’ll need to be a confident multi-tasker, a quick study with technology, and able to type and answer phones efficiently. No previous healthcare experience or knowledge is required. Since this is a hospital/lab environment, you should be prepared to see illness and injuries. We’ll teach you everything you need to know, making this a perfect starting point to launch your healthcare career.
You must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire.
Responsibilities
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment, navigating multiple screens and programs to collect details accurately between physician and nurse check-ins.
- Type quickly and efficiently as patients provide information.
- Work around clinicians who may interrupt the registration process for emergent clinical care.
- Assist patients who may be very ill or worried, listening carefully to ease their anxiety, asking follow-up questions, and building rapport in real time.
- Handle a fast-paced work environment, often on your feet, assisting patients with registration.
- Manage variations in health plans and coverage, applying knowledge gained through training to ensure accurate data collection.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience

Pay
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $16.00 - $21.10 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
