Patient Registration (Customer Service)
About the role
As a Patient Registration - Customer Service Representative, you’ll help patients check into the hospital. You’ll collect information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address their fears, concerns, and questions. This role is fast-paced and requires confidence in multitasking, technology, typing, and phone communication. No prior healthcare experience is needed, making this an ideal starting point for a healthcare career.
Since this is a hospital/lab environment, you must be prepared to see illness and injuries. You’ll need to be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire.
Responsibilities
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment, navigating multiple screens and programs while ensuring accurate data entry.
- Assist patients who may be ill or worried, building rapport and easing anxiety through active listening and follow-up questions.
- Handle interruptions from clinicians during emergent clinical care while maintaining focus on registration tasks.
- Work quickly and adapt to unexpected situations, including variations in health plans and coverage.
- Remain on your feet while assisting patients with registration in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service experience.
Preferred Skills
- Medical experience.
Schedule
Wednesday 7:00 PM–1:00 AM; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Pay
Base pay range: $14.50 - $18.99 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
