Responsibilities

  • Greet all individuals entering the treatment center and maintain an organized waiting area
  • Validate patient participation in the program through identification checks
  • Check and inform patients and key staff about monetary status, including collecting/requesting fees such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
  • Validate patient insurance eligibility and authorization, communicating status to patients
  • Assist in resolving patient concerns and check eligibility weekly/monthly using WayStar or payer websites
  • Maintain security of treatment center funds and provide financial reporting
  • Assist patients in completing insurance forms and perform daily accounting duties
  • Complete weekly reports and email them to leadership and accounting departments
  • Use the treatment center’s computer program for patient fee collection and financial accountability
  • Send monthly statements and file for third-party reimbursement (e.g., Medicaid) if applicable
  • Perform general clerical work, filing, and cover reception duties including answering phones, setting appointments, and scheduling intakes
  • Admit and discharge patients from the Central Registry, preparing and submitting state-mandated reports
  • Assist the Program Director with updating daily and monthly census forms and correcting patient/counselor caseload listings
  • Maintain inventory, order office supplies, and run work-related errands such as mail and bank deposits
  • Create/type documents, including letters and notices, and schedule patient appointments with the physician
  • Maintain a chart monitoring system and attend conferences, meetings, and training programs as directed
  • Attend weekly treatment team meetings to discuss individual patient issues
  • Hold a basic understanding of alcohol/drug abuse and addiction
  • Develop professional, helpful relationships with patients while maintaining confidentiality and boundaries
  • Function as a team member, promoting a positive and professional image to the community
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and participate in monthly in-service trainings
  • Help ensure the treatment center meets accrediting body standards
  • Perform Safety Officer responsibilities if assigned and engage in outreach activities
  • Meet BHG attendance standards and report work-related injuries, hazards, or security issues immediately
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisory team

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience as a general office clerk with basic math and accounting skills
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Front desk, admissions, billing, and/or collections experience (preferred)

Pay

$20.00 per hour
