Patient Registration Representative
Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Patient Registration Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming experience while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and appointment coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients, visitors, and business partners with professionalism, courtesy, and compassion.
- Facilitate patient flow from arrival through check-in and final destination in an efficient and timely manner.
- Accurately locate and register patients within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility for services.
- Maintain a strong customer-service focus during both in-person and telephone interactions.
- Support the checkout process and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
- Answer general questions related to laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology services.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Aid patients with navigation throughout the facility and provide support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and de-escalation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable learning and utilizing healthcare technology systems, including EMR platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient registration, healthcare administration, medical reception, or a related healthcare setting.
- Experience with EMR systems, including Epic or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout the facility during the workday.
- May be required to lift or transport supplies and equipment.
- Assist with escorting patients throughout the facility.
- Ability to push wheelchairs and provide mobility assistance when needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
