About the role
Join HCA Florida Kendall Hospital as a Patient Registrar, where you will play a key role in the patient experience by ensuring timely and accurate registration. This position requires flexibility, with current coverage needed for the overnight shift.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information, utilizing carts/computers on wheels for bedside registration.
- Provide exemplary customer service throughout the registration process.
- Ensure charts are completed accurately and verify all insurance coverage, obtaining pre-certification/authorization as needed.
- Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
- Secure all necessary signatures for treatment, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services from legally responsible parties.
- Obtain copies of necessary identification and insurance cards.
- Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately and verify insurance benefits to determine pre-certification/authorization status via online resources or phone.
- Initiate pre-certification/authorization/notification of admission if required and not already obtained, entering all information into the registration system.
- Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts to patients.
- Process patient charts according to established paperwork flow needs and productivity standards.
Requirements
- 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
