About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Weekday Patient Registrar at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest, part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct timely and accurate patient registration at workstations or bedside using carts/computers on wheels.
- Interview patients to obtain all pertinent account information, including insurance and financial details.
- Provide exemplary customer service and ensure charts are completed accurately.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed.
- Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
- Ensure all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services.
- Process patient charts according to established paperwork flow and productivity standards.
- Interview incoming patients, relatives, or responsible individuals to gather identifying, demographic, insurance, and financial information.
- Accurately assign Insurance Plans (IPlans).
- Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status via online resources or phone.
- Initiate pre-certification/authorization/notification of admission if required and not already obtained.
- Enter all information and authorization/referral numbers into the registration system.
- Secure copies of necessary identification and insurance cards.
- Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts.
Requirements
- 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
