About the Role
As a Registrar at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, you will play a key role in the patient experience by ensuring timely and accurate patient registration. You will interview patients to gather account information, verify insurance coverage, and provide exemplary customer service.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information, utilizing carts/computers on wheels for bedside registration.
- Provide exemplary customer service and ensure charts are completed and accurate.
- Verify all insurance coverage and obtain pre-certification/authorization as required.
- Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
- Ensure all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment, release of medical information, assignment of insurance benefits, and payment of services.
- Process patient charts according to established paperwork flow needs and productivity standards.
- Interview incoming patients, relatives, or responsible individuals to obtain identifying, demographic, insurance, and financial information.
- Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately and verify insurance benefits.
- Determine pre-certification/authorization status via online resources or phone calls; initiate if not already obtained.
- Enter all information and authorization/referral numbers into the registration system.
- Secure copies of necessary identification and insurance cards.
- Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts.
Requirements
- 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
