Responsibilities

• Provide accurate registration for accurate billing.
• Gather patient information for inpatients, outpatients, and all other points of registration, involving patient interviews, financial counseling, and insurance verification.
• Explain hospital policies regarding visitation, payment for charges, and services available.
• Handle routine inquiries and problems.
• Ensure positive public relations through careful execution of duties.
• Meet and/or exceed customer service expectations related to the registration process.
• Be fully trained in and understand MUSC Health Patient Financial Services policies and procedures related to the position and administer them according to established guidelines.
• Achieve routine performance evaluations resulting in a 95%–98% success rate to meet expectations and 100% or greater to exceed expectations.

Requirements

• Education: High School Degree or Equivalent.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards.
