PATIENT PROCESSING SPECIALIST - EMERGENCY DEPT REGISTRATION

About the role

The Patient Processing Specialist is often the first point of contact with our facility, so a strong Customer Service Focus is imperative. This role involves effectively communicating with patients to obtain necessary information for efficient Registration processing, including demographic and insurance details. The position has a direct impact on revenue and patient satisfaction; professionalism, great customer service, and efficiency are key to success.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information for registration.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in processing registrations to support revenue and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• 1-2 years of customer service experience, including computer work (required).

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of healthcare/hospital experience and/or customer service experience (preferred).
• 1 year of computer experience, with the ability to type and spell accurately (preferred).
• Completion of WorkKeys with a Level 4 and a Silver, Gold, or Platinum State certification in Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Math (preferred). Alternatively, a National Career Readiness Certificate effective 02/01/2012 is acceptable.
