Patient Observer - SOMC - Per Diem Nights

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety of the Patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
• Provide frequent checks on patients that have a Patient Watch Order.
• Provide direction to patient to ensure that they do not fall or wander off.
• Record and Document patient behavior.
• Must be able to travel with patient when needed.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Pay

The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting. The starting rate of pay is $17.42 hourly. Posted rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may vary based on factors including but not limited to: labor market data, experience, education and certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget and grant funding.

Certain positions may be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate.
