Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for patients on One-to-One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight, or Patient Safety.
• Ensure patient safety under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Work in situations involving isolation precautions.
• Conduct frequent checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
• Provide direction to patients to prevent falls or wandering.
• Record and document patient behavior.
• Travel with patients when needed.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Ability to stay mobile according to patients' movement, including standing for periods of time.
• Ability to work in situations with isolation precautions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student.

Pay

The starting rate of pay is $17.42 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Full-time and part-time positions (20+ hours/week) may be eligible for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
