Job Overview
A new, exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, organised and motivated individuals to join Cancer Services & Clinical Haematology as a Patient Navigator. The role involves working closely with Clinical staff within tumour groups.
Main duties of the job
- Requesting scans and results from relevant external Healthcare providers
- Make New Patient appointments in the appropriate clinics within the required timescale and ensuring cancer targets are met
- Talking to patients over the telephone and ensuring that their queries are dealt with efficiently
- Working with other departments within the board including Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy team
- Ad hoc duties as requested by the clinical team

To manage the flow of patients through the single point of access service
To ensure efficiency of appointment system; monitor the flow of patients into the system and report any concerns
To liaise with relevant staff from various health care settings reporting issues and or concerns
To maintain awareness of service delivery developments and contribute to the implementation of change within the service
