About the role
As a Monitor Technician, you will assist the nurse and/or physician in providing support to the unit as assigned and supervised by the nurse. In this role, you will monitor surveillance and documentation of cardiac rhythms and provide communication of patient needs to the appropriate caregiver.
Responsibilities
- Observe for changes in heart rate, rhythm, or other centrally monitored parameters, reporting significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.
- Admit/discharge patients from monitoring system.
- Maintain accurate telemetry transmitter monitor log books.
- Manage the inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialty training is preferred, specifically in EKGs.
- Preferred prior experience in healthcare or clinical setting.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
