About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Patient Monitor for their Sitter Unit in New Brunswick.

Responsibilities

• Complies with patient care decisions made by the professional staff and accepts responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments, and learning from feedback.
• Fulfills suicidal precautions and close observation monitoring policies and procedures.
• Observes and reports patient’s conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
• Maintains a safe and orderly work/patient care environment.
• Aids patients with daily living activities (feeding, dressing, showering/bathing).
• Assists with transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patients.
• Affirms patients have correct ID bands.
• Responds appropriately to emergencies.
• Handles and disposes of infectious and hazardous materials according to policies and procedures.
• Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintains safety of patients by remaining within an arms distance at all times.
• Maintains safety of close observation patients per policy.
• Maintains standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $16.56 per hour.

Schedule

Night Shift, 40 hours per week (5 shifts per week), 11p-7:30a, includes every other weekend and some holidays.
