Patient Flow Coordinator (Charge RN), Medicine Unit Sta. 35, Nights
About the role
This position is responsible for the coordination and management of patient flow operations to meet department needs, ensuring an efficient operation of the department by directing functions and activities, interpreting policies and procedures, standards, and regulation as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Interprets policies and procedures, standards, and regulation as applicable.
- Provides administrative and clinical support to Department Manager such as new hire orientation, staff development, patient care plan update, communication to staff nurses during shift changes, etc.
- Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.
- EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum 2 years' experience in area of expertise or equivalent service area or demonstrated effective leadership skills and competency in PFC responsibilities preferred.
- BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Required basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems.
- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association. Preferred: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or related certification.
