Patient Financial Navigator

About the role

Responsible for monitoring and collecting the financial responsibilities of our patients. The Patient Financial Navigator must keep patients’ insurance benefits up to date in OncoEMR and Centricity and view the patients’ services for diagnosis and insurance coverage appropriateness. Also performs the daily tasks of Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigator.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and collect patient financial responsibilities
• Maintain patients’ insurance benefits in OncoEMR and Centricity
• Review patient services for diagnosis and insurance coverage appropriateness
• Perform daily tasks related to Managed Care and Patient Financial Navigation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Insurance knowledge including:
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Managed care authorization process
  • ICD-10 codes
  • Collection experience
  • Ability to calculate and collect patient responsibility and insurance co-pay/coinsurance

• Background screening
• Drug screening
• Nicotine screening
• Vaccinations including influenza, barring an approved exemption
• Drug-free workplace policy; medical marijuana cards are not recognized
