About the role

The Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Patient Financial Coordinator to support activities related to Ryan White eligibility and enrollment into various patient assistance programs. This role involves working with a multi-disciplinary team including case management and medical providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide benefits counseling and obtain/process documents to certify Ryan White eligibility for ADAP/HICP and other patient assistance programs.
  • Absorb responsibility for ensuring compliance with Ryan White program requirements.
  • Assist clients with obtaining and processing healthcare plan applications during Open Enrollment.
  • Maintain and monitor CareWare, Data Rx, and other relevant programs daily, weekly, and monthly to track upcoming eligibility, expiration dates, and patient compliance.
  • Coordinate, monitor, track, and evaluate insurance enrollment, premium payments, co-pays, and changes in benefits with individuals, agencies, health insurance carriers, pharmacies, and the contracted Pharmacy Benefits Manager.
  • Perform data entry and documentation in electronic health records and other databases.
  • Provide timely follow-up and communication with clients and staff on important deadlines for certification and recertification of eligibility documents.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with case management team to obtain information and refer clients to other services, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent.
