Patient Financial Associate 1, Patient Access, $1000 Bonus, FT, Varies

About the role

Applies only to Emergency Department and BOS Digital Registration.

Responsibilities

• Completes varied duties to support the revenue cycle, compliance, and patient experience by accurately and efficiently completing tasks in areas of registration, financial screening, verification, and patient throughput.
• Maintains a close working relationship with all members of the clinical team to ensure a seamless and positive experience for both patients and caregivers.
• Works as needed on weekends, holidays, and during disastrous events.
• Presents and explains legal, ethical, and compliance-related documents to patients at the time of registration.
• Practices Baptist Health’s philosophy of service excellence, providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Demonstrated experience in payment collection, such as billing, sales, and collection/Customer Service.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Multitasking and agile mindset.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines to include, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc.
• Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations and pre-certifications, Microsoft Office products, and EMR applications, etc.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.
