About the role
As a part-time Patient Experience Representative, you will provide administrative support to the Complex Surgery unit. You will ensure the best possible patient experience by effectively coordinating services to patients and families, demonstrating interest in and ability to support departmental and organizational initiatives with a focus on continuous process improvement. You will perform various administrative functions requiring basic knowledge of programs and services and provide positive, effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices
- Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
- Schedule patients and support patient encounters
- Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services
- Process admissions and discharges
- Provide routine clerical support as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
- Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
Schedule
Every other Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, plus every other holiday.
Pay
The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this role at the time of posting. Any base pay offer depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
