Patient Equipment Transport Tech
About the role
The Patient Transporter at MultiCare is an opportunity for individuals passionate about health care and service to others. This role involves providing safe and timely transport of patients, supplies, oxygen, beds, and equipment throughout the facility. The position requires collaboration with the nursing staff, honing decision-making skills, and enjoying daily variety and problem-solving opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility
- Absorb and assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher
- Respond to STAR codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as needed
- Partner with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacities
- Effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to work duties
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Successful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in job
- One (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferred

Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care facility serving the greater Spokane region. It features a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
