Patient Coordinator - Technologist Assistant (London KY Area)

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Greeting, transporting and screening patients in preparation for exam;
  • Assisting patient transfer to and from mobile coach, on and off scan table and dismissal upon exam completion;
  • Obtains accurate patient history and explains total exam process to patient;
  • As directed, assist in administering preliminary and post exam instructions and answering questions related to the exam procedure;
  • As directed by technologist, interacts with site staff to obtain paperwork and supplies as needed.
  • Additionally, may be asked to deliver paperwork to radiologist and/or admin staff post scan to ensure timely availability;
  • As directed by technologist, assistant may obtain blood glucose level and set an IV;
  • As directed, assist technologist with data entry for patient data sheet, Biodose, end of day reports and supply ordering;
  • Interaction with managers, registration clerk, directors and radiologist as needed for effective communication;
  • Submission of paperwork to client indicated;
  • Cleans unit and prepares for transport as directed.

Job Requirements

  • Skills:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required;
  • Minimum 6 months-1 year of related experience and/or training in a clinical setting; phlebotomy experience preferred;
  • Phlebotomy certification required upon hire or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire;
  • Current American Heart Association (Basic Life Support) certification;
  • Fully vaccinated and up to date with all required immunizations, including COVID-19;
  • Willing and able to drive, up to 2 hours away;
  • Mileage and travel time are compensated.

Physical and Intellectual Requirements

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating small items;
  • Regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion;
  • Able to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals;
  • Good eye-hand coordination;
  • Fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses);
  • Normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz);
  • Able to analyze situations, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Effective organizational skills;
  • A commitment to continuous learning;
  • An ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
