Patient Coordinator

About the role

We are hiring a Patient Coordinator for our Jupiter, FL facility. This full-time position supports a positive patient experience by performing customer service and patient care tasks, ensuring documentation and records are prepared and organized, and helping patients understand what to expect during and after their appointment.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers, and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Performs patient registration in various systems.
• Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, including medical history.
• May transport patients to/from the exam room and assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table.
• May provide patients with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
• In the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked.
• Ensures accuracy of patient records.
• May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.
• May prepare medical records for physicians, patients, and customers.
• Ensures accurate documentation of patient visits in various electronic systems and on written documents.
• May assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer.
• Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire. For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.
• As applicable, valid state driver’s license required.
• Ability to work at several locations required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
• All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service or related experience and/or training (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
