Patient Concierge, Front Desk Associate
About the role
The Patient Concierge, Front Desk Associate is the first point of contact for patients and family members at Bardmoor Cancer Center. This position is responsible for greeting patients, confirming demographic and insurance information, answering phones, provider scheduling, and other duties as assigned. Customer service skills and attention to detail are important to this role's success.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and families
- Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files
- Schedule patient appointments
- Receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments
- Enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Process requests for records from outside sources
- Scan data into document imaging software
- Ensure regular attendance and punctuality
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
- Perform any other functions as required by management
Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary
- Ability to type 40 wpm, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- One year of medical office experience, preferred
- Experience accessing and updating an EMR system, preferred
Applies acquired job skills and company policies to complete standard tasks. Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution. Refers to policies and past practices for guidance. Receives general direction on standard work; detailed instruction on new assignments. Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems.

Pay
Anticipated hourly range: $15.70 - $22.50 per hour
