The Patient Communications Representative role is offered by a partner company managing all applications and next steps. This position supports patients through sensitive financial conversations and improves healthcare payment experiences. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient account interactions
  • Resolving billing-related questions
  • Supporting account resolution while maintaining compliance with healthcare, privacy, and collection regulations
  • Communicating with patients regarding outstanding medical accounts, repayment options, and available resolution pathways
  • Contacting patients through various communication channels to obtain payments or establish appropriate payment arrangements
  • Reviewing and updating patient demographic and financial information accurately during account interactions
  • Negotiating payment arrangements while following established guidelines and client requirements
  • Performing account research, documenting findings, and routing accounts through appropriate workflows
  • Maintaining accurate records of all patient contacts, account activity, and resolutions in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Ensuring all interactions comply with applicable healthcare privacy, consumer protection, and collection regulations, including HIPAA and FDCPA requirements
  • Meting performance objectives related to productivity, quality, account resolutions, and customer experience
  • Participating in training sessions and continuously developing knowledge of policies, procedures, and industry requirements

Requirements

  • A customer-focused professional with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential financial and healthcare information
  • Experience in customer service, healthcare administration, medical billing, collections, or a related field preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain detailed account information clearly and professionally
  • Empathy, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment
  • Ability to work effectively with technology systems, including customer management platforms and telephone systems
  • Comfortable working independently while meeting productivity and quality expectations in a remote environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow healthcare privacy regulations and compliance policies
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and adapt to changing procedures and requirements
  • Ability to work the required schedule, including one late shift per week from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM CST
