Patient Communication Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Respond appropriately to a high volume of incoming calls, remaining professional and courteous
  • Verify and update patient information during each interaction; enter accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Provide accurate information regarding services, insurance, office policies and procedures to clients/customers
  • Triage calls and messages and route to the appropriate department or team member
  • Other related duties as assigned

Schedule

Full-time, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the Chapel Hill or Concord office and 2 days at home.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a medical office or healthcare call center

Skills

  • Proficient in computer application skills, including EHR/EMR, and utilization of common office equipment
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Efficient at multi-tasking and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of patient privacy regulations and ability to maintain confidential information
