Patient Communication Coordinator
The Patient Communication Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for physicians and staff within the operating room/surgical center department. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to details, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment. Works in conjunction with providers and clinical staff to take care of Center’s needs.
Prerequisites
- One year of experience in a healthcare environment or a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service focused role.
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
Essential Functions
- Report all incidents and adverse incidents per Center policy
- Phone coverage
- Scanning and emailing documents
- Verifying charges and implants
- Ordering lunches
- Data collection and enter information in other software systems
- Data entry/formatting documents
- Periodically audits work
- Communicates with leadership, nursing staff, and materials management regarding questions on charges, items used or documentation
- Prepare documentation of implants and invoices for billing and coding
