About the Role
The position involves assisting professional nurses in providing safe, compassionate patient care, supporting unit operations, and maintaining a respectful, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned patient care tasks, including data collection, safety checks, and supporting patient activities.
- Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and glucose fingersticks.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy while adhering to infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Support unit functions, including equipment management, supply organization, and environmental safety.
- Participate in orientation, meetings, and ongoing training to meet educational requirements.
- Respond to emergency situations and assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in phlebotomy, EKG, or CNA preferred.
- Minimum 6 months hospital experience if certified as PCT or CNA.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Strong communication, customer service, and cultural competency skills.
- Ability to recognize limitations and seek assistance as needed.
