About the role

The primary purpose of the Patient Care Technician (Certified) (Inpatient) position is to deliver safe, quality patient/family focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse. This role is a member of a designated care team and collaborates with team members to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, quality patient/family focused care and services under the direction of a Professional Registered Nurse.
  • Collaborate with team members in achieving goals.
  • Provide care that is congruent with the patient/family developmental stage and cultural expectations.
  • Ensure patient/family goals are achieved, patient safety is maintained, and patient/family satisfaction is high.
  • Document care and services thoroughly as dictated by policy and procedure.
  • Conduct oneself according to the behavioral expectations articulated for this role.

Qualifications

  • Certified as a Patient Care Technician by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift/move patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize the activities of multiple patients.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Required Skills

  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Any other skills and abilities needed.
